Sergey Gorshkov

Sergey has been taking photographs of wild nature for many years. With each passing year, he feels more and more concerned. The world before his lens is now in danger.

‘I don’t even remember when I began taking photographs of wild nature. It gives me such incomparable pleasure; I would like to capture wild nature the way it is, the way it has always been and should remain for our children’, says Sergei about his photography debut. ‘The camera lens is like a link between me and wildlife. Through the lens I see, capture and try to convey the beauty of wildlife, a part of what I have seen and experienced by being nearby, in the fleeting world which is little by little disappearing from the face of the earth’.

His favorite shooting venue is Kamchatka. ‘A trip to the world of Kamchatka wildlife is so fascinating and exciting that the many years of my work have seemed like a day. I’m happy to have seen the beauty of this peninsula’s animal world. I will remember what I have seen and experienced here for my whole life’, says Sergey.

Sergey believes that every photographer should have a personal project which they should know intimately well and work on until completion. Sergei’s project is the wildlife of Kamchatka, more specifically – the natural habitat of the bear. He has been taking photos of them for many years.
